Maybe you have a nintendo switch and a Asus Rog gaming laptop that has usb 3.0, usb 2.0 and hdmi Port. Now you want to play your switch on your laptop monitor. However There is a way to achieve this without buying a capture card, you cannot use a hdmi (switch dock) to usb 3.0 (laptop) cord to make it work.

On the Nintendo Switch, there is no way to upgrade the resolution from 720p to 1080p without plugging the dock, you cannot connect Nintendo Switch’s HDMI cable to the laptop because it only contains an HDMI-out port. that’s why we have provided this article to guide you on how to plug the Nintendo Switch to the laptop without a capture card.

If you are unable to get a cheap capture card having USB 3.0 Type-C support, then you may want to try buying Elgato Game Capture HD60 S for $160.

This will enable you to connect Nintendo Switch to the laptop without any serious issue.  One end of HDMI cable is connected to Switch’s dock and the other one with Elgato, the USB 3.0 port connector will operate from your computer.

This method is quite appealing to those who love traveling and are not bound to carry their monitor along with them.
